The Captivity Series
Bear In Captivity
This image features a vibrant geometric background of purple, orange, and pink tiles, overlaid by a white, abstract barricade of thin lines and large, rough circles that obscure the colors beyond. In the lower left corner, a simple purple bear gazes at the scene, seemingly pondering the barricade before it and how to overcome the obstacle. Bear in Captivity invites multiple interpretations: it can represent the journey from a cold, isolating world to a warmer, more vibrant one; the struggle to break free from personal or social barriers to freedom; or the challenge of expanding creative thinking—from small, confined ideas to bigger, more dynamic ones. The bear, puzzled and contemplating the scene, represents a yearning for growth, connection, or change, yet the absence of a clear path emphasizes the uncertainty of how to get there. Ultimately, the piece speaks to the desire to break through limitations, whether in life, creativity, or society.

Turtle Shell
This geometric silhouette of a turtle stands before a vibrant array of shapes—teal, turquoise, earth brown, orange, and yellow—representing the diverse possibilities of identity and connection. The turtle is searching for a shell that matches its true self, navigating through a world full of colors and patterns. A white fence-like barrier overlays the colorful shapes, symbolizing the obstacles that separate us from a life full of diverse experiences and invisible barriers that people often perceive. The piece celebrates the beauty of difference and the journey toward finding belonging in a world rich with possibilities, encouraging us to break down the barriers that limit connection and embrace the diversity of life.

Duck of Resilience
This digital piece features the profile of a duck, its body poised in quiet contemplation before a collage of colors and shapes. The background, a series of overlapping, long trapezoidal forms, evokes the organic flow of feathers, symbolizing the inevitable turbulence of life. Overlaid by a barricade of wavy vertical lines, reminiscent of reeds in a pond, the piece conveys a sense of confinement. The duck, however, remains unfazed, facing its colorful surroundings with a calm expression. This work reflects the idea of maintaining
